Diploma support – Delivery 2010
The SSAT is collaborating with a number of workforce partners to develop a package to support those consortia planning to offer Diploma lines from 2010 and beyond. This package will help curriculum planners, line leads and consortia managers as well as practitioners with planning for the implementation of an effective Diploma programme.
Full details will be available at www.diploma-support.com from September 2008.

Learning visits
Two different opportunities were offered to those involved in delivering the Diploma from 2009 and those planning to deliver from 2010 to see some of the innovative and exciting change process work that is taking place to implement curriculum reform in consortia and employer organisations.
The first type of visit enabled delegates to experience and share in examples of interesting and emerging good practice from the perspective of consortia planning to deliver the new Diploma from September 2008. The second type of visit provided an opportunity to review and explore the vision from the employer point of view across the new five lines of learning to be delivered from 2009.
We are currently in the process of developing online resources, which will capture the practice, that has emerged from this series of learning visits. It is expected that these resources will be available at
www.diploma-support.com from November 2008.
Workshops
The second phase of support workshops took place during spring 2008. These events provided an opportunity for all those planning delivery from 2009 to work with experts to develop an in-depth understanding of Diploma delivery and to benefit from practical examples of emerging good practice.

The first series of regional workshops ran in the autumn term 2007 for 14-19 advisors, consortia leads and others to work together to support their planning for 2009. Those who attended appreciated the opportunity to share ideas, discuss issues, define priorities and begin to find solutions.
